Under 14´s v Na Fianna B League Match.

Well done to the under 14 boys who played a great game against Na Fianna B in Johnstown Park. The boys played into the sun in the first half and were down by a point at half time.
Half Time Score: DLS 00-05 Na Fianna 01-03.
When the ball was thrown in for the second half the boys got stuck in and evened up the score. The game was played from end to end for the next 30 minutes. They didn't give up even after going behind by three points, after Na Fianna scored their third goal, this just gave the boys the strength and courage to fight on and win the game by a point.

Clondalkin Round Towers V´s Ballyfermot DLS U12´s

Well done yet again to the under 12´s they started off great against Round Towers, going into a 5 point lead at half time.
When the ref blew the whistle for the second half Round Towers came out fighting, they were determent to win a match that was dominated by a De La Salle side.

Round Towers got off to a roaring second half scoring a point straight away, De La Salle fought back but Round Towers went ahead and scored a goal. Ballyfermot DLS kept up their attack, while Round Towers got stuck in and scored 3 points in a row, this didn’t stop the lads from putting their heart into the game and drawing level.

Ballyfermot DLS got a second wind when it was needed, because there were only 2 or 3 minutes left when the team got that extra burst of energy and went and scored the winning goal. The crowd had no finger nails left at the end of the game it was such a close match. It was a hard fought match that could have gone either way.

Congratulations to the under 12´s on their well deserved win.

Final Score Clondalkin Round Towers 2-12 Ballyfermot DLS 3-12.

History was in the making this evening when the DLS under 10 girls team played their first match against Naas, and won. It was an exciting game where the girls played great football against a good Naas team.
The girls were a bit nervous to start off with but when they scored their first point it settled them down and they were able to put into practice everything they had learned over the last couple of months.

Anthony Brennan Memorial Match

Our Club will once again be participating in the Anthony Brennan Memorial Matches this September. As you may recall, Anthony was a young Ballyfermot lad who was tragically killed a number of years ago. As a club, we are proud to continue our association with Anthony's family for the third year running.

The matches this year will be contested against Good Counsel on Saturday, 15th September. An Under 11's game will take place at 5.30pm, followed by a seniors game at 6.45pm. This is the first time we have run Cul Camp and it was a great success. Everyone had a great time even if the weather wasn't the best at times. We would like to thank everyone involved in organising and running the event.

June 2007.

This year marks a significant milestone for the club as we hold our first ever summer camp.

All of the camp's activities will take place in the De La Salle National Schools grounds on Ballyfermot Road. The camp will commence each day at 10.30am and will end at 2.30pm.

For some children and parents, the summer camp will be the first time they have been involved with the club. I would like to extend a special welcome to them and I hope that they will remain involved with the club's activities into the future. Ours is the only GAA club solely based in the Ballyfermot area and we are making great strides each year to develop and grow. We know that, given the talent that there is in the young players in our community, our club can become one of the largest and most successful in Dublin.

We are always looking for parents, whether their children be new recruits or more established players, to become more involved with the club and to assist us with coaching and fundraising. If you wish to give some of your time to help us in this way, or if you have fundraising ideas or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me or any club mentor.

Is mise, le meas,
John Mc Bride,
Cathaoileach.
